This was a special election comprising only one referendum on reducing existing rules and the Charter to the status of guidance and establishing a new [[CZ:Policies|policy document]]. The referendum was passed unanimously. See the [[User:ElectionNovember2016#Results|result]].

This was the first election to make use of an anonymous voting system, in which Citizens registered to vote via the wiki and then cast ballots via [http://www.ballotbin.com BallotBin]. Two seats on the Council were subject to approval votes. Six referenda were also voted on and four were passed. These were: to allow the Managing Editor or Constabulary to appoint the Election Committee in the event that the Council does not; to rename the Constabulary as the Moderator Group; to request that technical upgrades and maintenance be prioritised; and to prevent the Council or its members from running elections. Following are the results of previous Citizendium elections:

November 2016
