Following are the results of previous Citizendium elections:

June 2016

This was the first election to make use of an anonymous voting system, in which Citizens registered to vote via the wiki and then cast ballots via BallotBin. Two seats on the Council were subject to approval votes. Six referenda were also voted on and four were passed. These were: to allow the Managing Editor or Constabulary to appoint the Election Committee in the event that the Council does not; to rename the Constabulary as the Moderator Group; to request that technical upgrades and maintenance be prioritised; and to prevent the Council or its members from running elections. See also the results.

June 2015

This was the first election in which any available seats would be open to both Authors and Editors. One seat was elected on a two-year term, with one candidate subjected to an approval vote. Four referenda were also voted on, and all passed. These were to: require real names for applicants; create a new process to approve articles; add responsibilities to the role of Managing Editor; and allow the Council to temporarily appoint people to its vacant seats. See also the results.

June 2014

This was an election to re-establish the Citizendium Council after a transitional period. All seats were elected, two for Editors for two-year terms and one for an Author for a shortened one-year term. There were two Editor candidates and two Author candidates. Three referenda were passed, abolishing the Ombudsman, opening all Council seats to all candidates, and establishing emergency governance procedures in the event that the Council ceases to function. See also the results.

July-August 2013

This was a Special Election to fill three vacant seats on the Management Council, two seats on the Editorial Council, and the position of Ombudsman. Eight referenda appeared on the ballot, all of which were passed. There was one candidate for the Management Council, two for the Editorial Council and no candidate for Ombudsman. As a referendum to merge the Councils passed, the successful candidates instead joined a new 'Citizendium Council'.

June 2012

This was a regular election to fill The Managing Editor seat. There were 28 ballots cast. Four referenda appeared on the ballot. One failed and three passed. Two of the passed referenda reduced the size of the councils. The Management Council was reduced to 3 seats and the Editorial Council was reduced to 5 seats.

December 2011

This was a regular election to fill open seats on the Editorial Council. There were 28 ballots cast. The ballot also contained 3 referenda.

October 2011
