Actually the welcome should perhaps go the other way around? :-) Bernie is the only other member of the Board of Directors of the Citizendium Foundation, and for a time was our Managing Editor until he had to step down due to his Digital Universe responsibilities. Welcome to the Citizendium!
Hello, Bernard, and welcome to the Citizendium! Thank you for taking part in this exciting attempt to create an expert-verified compendium of knowledge. I hope you enjoy your experience here.
To learn how to get started, see how to get started with the Citizendium pilot. In case you haven't used a Wiki before, you can learn more at how to edit the Citizendium. Finally, feel free to discuss things on user and article talk pages. When taking part in discussions, please sign your name using four tildes (~~~~) or the signature button above the edit box; this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, please feel free to drop me a line on my talk page or ask anyone else for assistance. Again, welcome!--Jason Sanford 09:08, 12 November 2006 (CST)

Astronomy
Hi Bernard. I've just started a thread in the forums about the astronomy workgroup. I know this isn't a great week because of AAS (say hi to the space needle for me). I think we should start attacking the Astronomy page, and maybe see if we can tidy some articles up for approval. Join me in the forums? -- Sarah Tuttle 10:16, 5 January 2007 (CST)
hello Barnard, I noticed in some of your meet & greets you placed onto new accounts you put them on the actual user page, in stead of the user talk page. To see whether a new user has a bio we leave that user page blank until the user actually fills in a BIO, hence we place the greetings on the users talk page. I did the same when I started but was corrected by others, and (wink, wink) even big shot Sanger got fooled that way :). I am looking forward to working with you on the area of chemistry, physics, or computer science or a subset. Robert Tito | Talk 18:25, 7 February 2007 (CST)
Bernard, Jeff Cook is not banned, as I just checked. He might have tried to gain access through another IP address that was banned. I cannot un-block an address that is not blocked. It would be a nice paradox. cheers, Robert Tito | Talk 18:28, 8 February 2007 (CST)
meet&greet
Bernard,
the meet&greet is supposedly placed in the user TALK page, not the user page. The remark about the bio can be omitted. Your mail still s**ks, report to bugs please. Cheers Robert Tito | Talk 20:49, 8 February 2007 (CST)
Did you make Ashwini editor on purpose?
One minute a topic of dispute the next editor.

Intelligent design
Hello, Dr. Haisch. I wish to point out to you that intelligent design is a currently active article and that your input there would be very important. Regards, Stephen Ewen 04:29, 26 February 2007 (CST)
The name of the Earth
Dear Bernard, as an editor in Earth sciences, I'll soon start editing some recently posted articles. I have a little doubt, though. Should the Earth (as a planet) be capitalized? I believe it should, but I've checked some on-line dictionaries, and didn't get a definitive answer.
What's your opinion? Capitalize or not?
Thanks, --Nereo Preto 11:01, 20 April 2007 (CDT)
Returning to Citizendium: an update on the project and how to get involved
Hello - some time ago you became part of the Citizendium project, but we haven't seen you around for a while. Perhaps you'd like to update your public biography or check on the progress of any pages you've edited so far.
Citizendium now has over 16,000 articles, with more than 150 approved by specialist Editors such as yourself, but our contributor numbers require a boost. We have an initiative called 'Eduzendium' that brings in students enrolled on university courses to write articles for credit, but we still need more Editors across the community to write, discuss and approve material. There are some developed Astronomy articles that could be improved and approved, and some high-priority Natural Sciences articles that we don't have yet. You can also create new articles via this guide, and contribute to some Astronomy pages that have been recently edited - or to any others on Citizendium, since you're a general Author as well as a specialist Editor. You may like to contribute to discussions in the forums, and might consider running for an elected position on the Management and Editorial Councils that oversee the project.
If you have any questions, let me know via my Talk page or by leaving a message below this one. Thank you for signing up and reading this update; I hope that you will look in on our community soon. John Stephenson 06:57, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
