== What should be the "parent topic(s)" for individual architects? ==
Hello, Lars. I have a question for you as Architecture Editor. I just created a couple of lemma articles about individual architects, and I now want to create the Related Articles pages for them. What should I specify as the "parent topic" for them? Architecture, or Architect (both of which articles exist already), or something new like "American architecture", "Polish architects", etc.? I can't find any such "national" articles listed in the plans of your workgroup. Also, I looked at some of the existing articles on individuals, e.g. Gaudi, and they didn't have anything specified as a "parent topic." (I do see "Modernism," which would probably be a "related topic" for these individuals.) Thanks. [[User:Bruce M. Tindall|Bruce M. Tindall]] 21:07, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Welcome Page

Welcome, new editor! We're very glad you've joined us. Here are pointers for a quick start. Also, when you get a chance, please read The Editor Role. You can look at Getting Started for other helpful introductory pages. It is essential for you as an editor to join the Citizendium-Editors (broadcast) mailing list in order to stay abreast of editor-related issues, as well as the mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. It is also important, for project-wide matters, to join the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and thank you! We appreciate your willingness to share your expertise, and we hope to see your edits on Recent changes soon. Some ideas for contributions

Hei Lars,

welcome to Citizendium! Roger has already given you some hints as to how things work here, and the main differences to Wikipedia (detailed here) can be boiled down to the following: Apart from using real names and appreciating expert opinions, we have subpages (e.g. for Definitions and Related Articles) instead of categories for contextualization, forums for discussions that go beyond a single article, and Eduzendium for coursework. Except for approved articles, basically all pages (including the Welcome Page as well as most policy pages and templates) can be edited by any user.

We don't have all that much content on things Norwegian or Architecture, so your contributions would be very welcome in getting structure in there. For a start, the current state of some relevant CZ articles is displayed below (for icon documentation, see Template:Rpl/doc; for the [r], just mouse over it):

Looking forward to fruitful collaborative editing, --Daniel Mietchen 20:55, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

History Editor role?

Welcome!

I seem to be the only active Military editor, so I can't nominate my own articles for approval. Battleship, Destroyer and Cruiser are at a stage where approval could be continued. Since the WWII Norwegian campaign is one of the sections of the Destroyer article, are any of these things you might consider reviewing?

History editor input needed

There is a complex controversy over appropriate terminology and neutrality policy starting in the article on Josef Mengele and spilling over to War crime and perhaps other places I am not aware of. Input from history editors might be helpful. Sandy Harris 03:22, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
