| | : October 2008, indeed. Short answer is, well, yes, I should try it. A longer story is that at some point article listings in the categories on the wiki became quite incomplete. This resulted in inconsistencies in stats so that I had to stop. Now, I've just checked and it seems that the listings agree with article counts (so it should work). | The big O notation (and its relatives, such as the little o notation) is quite common in analysis and other parts of mathematics having nothing to do with analysis of algorithms. | Sorry I didn't respond for so long, Alek ... I agree that an article titled "Big O notation" is a bit weird - it'd be like having an article titled "The f(x) notation". Big O is a way to express certain ideas (in complexity theory, analysis, physics, and so on), and so it can be discussed where those ideas are discussed. - Greg Martin 17:57, 24 April 2007 (CDT)

| The articles Tycho Brahe and Joan of Arc were listed by yourself as needing the WP credit. The Tycho article already had a WP credit. Recently, I removed the last remaining WP material from the Joan of Arc article so it should not require such credit.

| |
| | |
| :The WP credit on Tycho Brahe was entered in a non-standard way because the WP template did not exist at the time. That would be really hard for a program to pick up. James F. Perry 13:52, 28 March 2007 (CDT)

| I just dealt with the one paragrpah which contained 4 of the 5 WP leftover remnants. Near as I can figure, I had slated that passage for elimination, probably previewed it, but forgot to save the changes. There is now only the one sentence about Joan's parents to be revised.

| :The Timeline of Joan of Arc article was written by myself, originally posted to WP. Since my original posting, only a couple of changes (not all of which were merited) were made. They were then removed before bringing the article over here to CZ. So the CZ article was written by myself. I will leave a note on the Talk page of the article explaining that. After essentially completely rewriting the article for WP, I decided to contribute it here. | == WP Credit ==
| |
| | |
| I notice you have been adding "WP Credit" to articles that I have posted here and also on WP. When I posted them here several months ago, there was a discussion about whether WP credit should be given. The conclusion was that it NEED NOT be given, since I was very much the primary author (and sometimes the only one) of the WP article. The talk page of each of these articles includes a discussion of this situation. For articles where these conditions didn't apply, I tried to always give WP credit. I don't much care whether or not WP is named as the first place this material appeared, but I DO care about consistency, sticking to decisions once made, etc., especially when I jumped through so many discussion page hoops to describe what was going on. Louis F. Sander 14:32, 31 July 2007 (CDT)
| |
| :Louis, without having checked which articles Aleksander is adding WP credit to, I do know that in his discussions with me, he's emphasised that if more than about one sentence of a WP article that isn't by the CZ author is re-used here, then the WP credit requirement applies. I've moved a number of articles of mine over, and have had to do some creative editing to remove the parts contributed by others, when I cared to have the WP credit removed from the article. | Hi Aleksander, you sent me a message while I was editing Solid harmonics. Now the new message message is saved in this article. I never experienced this in Wikipedia, a bug? --Paul Wormer 06:36, 19 August 2007 (CDT)

| I take it back, it was in my Firefox buffer! --Paul Wormer 06:38, 19 August 2007 (CDT)

| Hi Aleksander. I'm trying to find out why \begin{align} still doesn't work. I left a message on User talk:Jason Potkanski, but since the last message on that page is a few months in the past, I'm wondering whether he's still the right person to contact, as unfortunately a number of high-profile people (Nancy Sculerati, Russell Potter) has left us. What is the best point of contact?

| By the way, I haven't forgotten about your essentials / advanced subpage and will comment on it. I just wanted to do a bit of writing first before talking about policies. Generally, I think people talk too much and work too little here, but now I've made a start on Noether's theorem I feel justified in commenting on some policy stuff. | Hi Aleksander, when I still worked for WP I spent some time on being able to convert from PostScript to SVG format. I don't see any indication that CZ allows SVG, is that true?--Paul Wormer 11:03, 20 August 2007 (CDT)
