I am currently a senior at the University of Oklahoma majoring in Zoology-Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Philosophy. I am also taking the additional courses necessary to fulfill all Pre-Veterinary Medicine requirements in order to be considered for admission into a 4-year veterinary medical program following completion of my undergraduate studies.

I currently have 6 years of experience working as a veterinary technician; I was then promoted to the position of Hospital Supervisor & Manager, which I held for another year before deciding to return to school full-time in order to complete the final courses necessary to complete my bachelor's degree, so that I could later apply to veterinary school. These 7 years included work at a large small-animal & exotics practice in Tulsa, an emergency animal hospital in Oklahoma City, with the last 5 years at 2 hospitals in Norman , both of which were practices specializing exclusively in feline-medicine. It has always been my long-term goal to become a licensed doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM). However, it was my time at the cat hospitals that led to my desire to become a DVM specializing in feline-medicine.

Due to my strong interest in veterinary medicine, particularly feline-focused topics, the majority of my research for projects and scientific papers completed as a college student reflects this.
