My name is Jonathan Frater. I am currently the Technical Services Librarian for the Metropolitan College of New York library.
I hold a B.A. in English (Concentration in Writing) from Queens College/CUNY, 1992. While I was there I was the Editor-in-Chief of "Pandemonium" the QC literary magazine.
In 2001 I started working at the New York Academy of Medicine Library, and when I received my M.L.S. in 2004, I became a full time Technical Services Librarian there, concentrating on maintaining and developing the library’s collection of electronic resources. Those resources included working with ContentDM, a graphical image metadata tool to help create two virtual rare book collections: the Helfand Pharmaceutical Trade Card Collection and the New York City Milk Committee Ephemera Collection. I was also part of the Academy’s Grey Literature Report, both cataloging documents for it and producing the report every other month.
I made the move to MCNY in June 2007 and am now responsible for all Technical Services functions for our college library.
