Purpose of this article

This is part of a series under the parent article Nuclear power reconsidered intended to provide a short, simple summary of information relevant to the issues of safety, waste, proliferation, and cost. Wikipedia has some excellent articles on nuclear power, but they are often overwhelming to someone who is looking for a basic understanding. Rather than start fresh with a whole series on just these issues, I intend to copy selected information from Wikipedia, and share it under the same license CC-BY-SA.
