 Definition:  A second-generation antidepressant of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor class, which also effective in reducing ethanol uptake in alcoholics and is used in depressed patients who also suffer from tardive dyskinesia in preference to tricyclic antidepressants, which aggravate this condition.
