updates

Does this automatically get updated, or do we cross out entries individually as we define them? David E. Volk 13:15, 1 July 2008 (CDT)

It is automatically updated. Unfortunately there is a bug in wikimedia (also is a problem in wikipedia) that means it does not get updated unless you make a new edit to the relevant page. In this case the talk page for the article. See the minor edit I just made to Ampicillin and it is now removed from the category. Unless that minor edit is made it will remain in the category despite having a definition. Chris Day 13:19, 1 July 2008 (CDT)
Any way we can get it to update on updates of subpages and metadata templates? --Tom Morris 15:57, 1 July 2008 (CDT)
Tom, I 'm not sure I understand the question. The problem here is that many of these categories are placed by the subpages template. So a change to the metadata template, i.e. adding a new workgroup will add a suite of new workgroup related categories to any page in the cluster. For sure, any of those pages that are edited will be refreshed in the category lists. I've also noticed that at a much slower rate the categories will update without an edit but this can take days to weeks. I have no idea what the bug is that causes this problem. Is this how you understood the problem? If so, maybe you can rephrase the question? If you know how to fix the problem, or know someone who knows hpw to fix the problem, that would be very useful. I tried editing the metadata page thinking that would do it, but that did not work. Thanks for the info. David E. Volk 16:02, 1 July 2008 (CDT)

create tabs

Could someone create A, B, C etc tabs so I don't need to go by 400's to search for things in my workgroups needing fixes? David E. Volk 13:37, 7 July 2008 (CDT)

redirects are showing up

Antiviral, which redirects to Antiviral drug shows up on this list. Do all redirect articles do this? David E. Volk 18:29, 17 July 2008 (CDT)

HELP

I have knocked off a couple of hundred definitions, but I could use some help clearing up definitions. At the very least, please make definitions as you start new articles to stop the bleeding. We still have almost 4900 articles without definitions. David E. Volk 22:33, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

I've been trying to do them when i see them. although. I have not made a systematic attempt to do it. Do you think we should try and address this with a serious drive? I have been thinking it would just get done eventually as people see the red links or write related articles pages. Maybe I am being naive here? Chris Day 22:36, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
A definition write-a-thon would be great. David E. Volk 22:44, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
