To use this template, place {{headofstate|COUNTRYNAME}} where you want the text to appear. Be sure to update the name at Template:COUNTRYNAME/headofstate. To include the date that the incumbent assumed office, place {{headofstate|COUNTRYNAME|DATE}}, e.g. {{headofstate|COUNTRYNAME|1st January 1980}} adds (since 1st January 1980).
