Howard, in response to your email:
* The reaction is a reduction-oxidation reaction, usually referred to as a "redox reaction" and I think that would be a better link than "oxidation" altho the link would be red since we have no "Redox reaction" article as yet. However, the [[Chemical reaction]] article has a section on "Reaction types" in which redox reactions are discussed. You might consider linking to that article.
* The reaction is also almost universally referred to as a "thermite reaction".

Howard, in response to your email:
