Definition of Partial Differential Equations

I should explain why I changed the definition of PDEs. The original text said that the unknown in a PDE was a function of several variables, but nowhere did it say that a PDE involves derivatives w.r.t. those variables. Greg Woodhouse 13:21, 2 April 2007 (CDT)
