Devon (sometimes known as Devonshire) is a county in south-west England.

The geographical county extends across the south-west peninsula from north to south coast. On the west it borders on Cornwall, the river Tamar being the boundary in the south. To the north-east it borders on Somerset, and there is a short border with Dorset in the east.
