Proposed revision/replacement
I propose to rename this article "Credit rating agency", to retain only a small fraction of its content and to add the following material about credit rating agencies:
: Their methods of risk assessment;
: A Tutorials subpage note on their errors (such as  this);
: The part played by their incompetence in triggering the financial crisis (as revealed by  evidence to various independent enquiries);
: Regulatory measures and proposals;
: A timeline of their major downgrades of commercial and sovereign debt;
: External links to the agencies and to their newly-appointed regulatory authorities.
I also propose to create a separate linked article entitled "Sovereign default" to cover the causes and history of sovereign defaults,  and of recoveries from them.

I have nearly completed the article on sovereign default and there being no objections to the above, I now propose to rewrite this article.-Nick Gardner 14:18, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

As suggested, I moved "Bond rating" to "Credit rating agency".

Proposed revision/replacement

I propose to rename this article "Credit rating agency", to retain only a small fraction of its content and to add the following material about credit rating agencies:

Their methods of risk assessment;
A Tutorials subpage note on their errors (such as this);
The part played by their incompetence in triggering the financial crisis (as revealed by evidence to various independent enquiries);
Regulatory measures and proposals;
A timeline of their major downgrades of commercial and sovereign debt;
External links to the agencies and to their newly-appointed regulatory authorities.

I also propose to create a separate linked article entitled "Sovereign default" to cover the causes and history of sovereign defaults, and of recoveries from them. Nick Gardner 08:29, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

I have nearly completed the article on sovereign default and there being no objections to the above, I now propose to rewrite this article.-Nick Gardner 14:18, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Move

As suggested, I moved "Bond rating" to "Credit rating agency". Moreover, I moved the duplicate article "Bond Ratings" to /Archive 1. Both were Eduzendium articles. --Peter Schmitt 10:59, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
