The '''Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers''' (IEEE) is a non-profit association of engineering professionals, especially in areas related to computers and communications.  Usually referred to by its initials via the moniker "I-triple-E", the IEEE publishes numerous peer-reviewed technical journals and is a widely recognized standards development organization.
 
As well as acting as a professional and educational association, it is a recognized standards development organization. IN the Citizendium context, IEEE work is most likely to apply to computers and communications.
