In medicine, denervation is neurosurgical procedure that is the "resection or removal of the nerve to an organ or part."[1]

Examples include nerve blocks, vagotomy, and sympathectomy.

Catheter-based renal sympathetic denervation has been studied for resistant hypertension.[2]
