{{Image}Boise, Idaho 2021.jpg|right|350px|Boise skyline in winter 2021.}} Boise, Idaho is the capital of the U.S. state of Idaho, is located on the Boise River in the southwestern part of the state, and is the seat of Ada County. As of 2020, there were 235,684 people residing in the city, and the metropolitan area, also known as the Treasure Valley, includes five counties with a combined population of 749,202.

Boise is 41 miles east of the Oregon border and 110 miles north of the Nevada border. The downtown area's elevation is 2704 feet about sea level. The metro area contains the state's three largest cities: Boise, Nampa, and Meridian. Downtown Boise is the cultural center and home to many small businesses and a number of high-rise buildings. Centrally, 8th Street contains a pedestrian zone with sidewalk cafes and restaurants.
