James Dean (4 January 1816 – 25 December 1881) was an English first-class cricketer in the middle years of the 19th century. He was an outstanding fast bowler who played mainly for Sussex at county level. He was chiefly associated with the United All-England Eleven – with John Wisden, he acted as joint secretary of the venture.
