Nicola Sturgeon MSP (born 19th July 1970) is the First Minister of Scotland and leader of the Scottish National Party. She is a Member of the Scottish Parliament for Glasgow Southside and was previously Deputy First Minister and SNP deputy leader. Sturgeon was elected unopposed as SNP leader on 14th November 2014, and was sworn in as First Minister on 16th November 2014.[1] She previously served as a Scottish minister for infrastructure, investment and cities (2012-2014) and for health (2007-2012). She is the first woman to become Scotland's premier.
