Tarek Kahlaoui is an assistant professor in Rutgers University (Art History/History departments). His general fields include Islamic history, Islamic art history, North Africa, and Mediterranean history. He is also interested in Middle Eastern politics. He is a regular contributor in various Arabic media outlets including aljazeera.net, al-quds al-arabi, and al-hayat.
