Dragons' Den is a television program that is broadcast in many countries, originally starting in Japan, where a group of venture capitalists and investors (the "dragons") are presented with a number of entrepreneurs who pitch an idea in order to secure finance. The entrepreneur needs to get a minimum amount from the dragons, otherwise they get nothing. Usually, on a typical program, the vast majority of the ideas will not get funding.

The UK version of Dragons' Den is broadcast on BBC 2, and features five Dragons: Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis, Deborah Meaden and James Caan. Previous Dragons include Simon Woodroffe, Rachel Elnaugh, Doug Richard and Richard Farleigh.
