Template talk:No metadata template
I just created a new article and got the new metadata thingy. I followed a link and arrived here.
Just a suggestion: when the page comes up, can the name of the newly-created article appear (as it used to) i.e. instead of template:ARTICLE NAME/METADATA or whatever, it comes up template:Lesser Pink Sea Snail/metadata.
It'll reduce errors.

- Now I see what you're saying. Did it really do that? If so I have no idea how to fix it to do that again. Chris Day 21:24, 26 March 2008 (CDT)
- I think I just figured out the change I made that you'd like to see back. Check out the new version. Chris Day 21:40, 26 March 2008 (CDT)
- For the first time starting from the main page, I just tried to moveTerminal High Altitude Area Defense to Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (missile). That took me to step 2B, which I found a non-homeopathic dose of utter bewilderment on what to do next.
- Don't feel bad; I just figured out that the geniuses at DIA and NATO, for some ungodly reason, reused the SA-5 designation for two completely different missiles, with different code names GAMMON and GRIFFON, for, respectively, the S-200 (missile) and V-1000 (missile). Incidentally, I'm following what I think is your lead, and making sort sequences "missile, designation-foo". Howard C. Berkowitz 00:39, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Cluster move?
How do I find out if a cluster move is in process? See, e.g. Complement (immunologic). -- Alexander Wiebel 11:36, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
God this is a mess.
Would anyone mind if I took this, ripped it to shreds and built something simple instead. No offence to Aleta or anyone else who worked on this, but it looks like it was designed by a firm believer in the 'ransom note' school of typography. 'Show' links? What? Can't we just have a simple banner at the top saying "This article does not have a metadata template." And clicking the words metadata template takes you to the page to create one. Make it invisible to people not signed in. As for cluster move: have it in smaller text underneath, and have a show link just for that. If nobody has any objections, I'll do it. And finally, I won't have to look at blinking, rotating text. Sorry if I'm sounding a bit brusque, but this last change has pushed me into action. –Tom Morris 13:36, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
Okay, first thing: I've made it so that the new minimal banner at the top has a link to the metadata template. That way, people don't need to open the full thing - they can just click 'metadata subpage' and get on with it. This will be about 80% of the edits. I'm actually not too bothered by the rest - so long as I don't have to look at it! I'm firmly in the "I don't care, so long as I don't have to look at it" category! Also, I'm not wild about the "if you feel up to it" language, so I cut that. –Tom Morris 14:03, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
