Let me add a personal welcome to the CZ community. It appears that your knowledge and interest are in areas that will benefit the CZ project considerably. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

As someone with a long interest in rural social issues myself, I note in particular your agricultural background and interests. I recently started an article on rural poverty for example, but haven't pursued it very far yet. If you would care to offer a few ideas and thoughts from your own perspective (e.g., on the role of food, wheat breeding or land reclamation, for example) that would be most welcome.
