Welcome!

Citizendium Getting Started
Quick Start | About us | Help system | Start a new article | For Wikipedians

Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! Anton Sweeney 04:55, 24 February 2008 (CST)

WP articles

Hi, I noticed you've been importing a lot of WP articles, and am curious to know if you planned on improving all the articles you are importing from WP? CZ doesn't exist to simply mirror WP articles - see CZ:Introduction_to_CZ_for_Wikipedians#Citizendium_is_not_a_mirror. --Todd Coles 20:33, 28 February 2008 (CST)

The WP articles are still exact copies here, see Ethnic groups of India, for example. Please rewrite these or remove them. David E. Volk 14:39, 14 March 2008 (CDT)

talk page

I usually reply on the other guy's talk page to make sure they get the message. I don't watch other peoples page and so might miss a note. If you reply on your page, then send an email to the user to come and have a look David E. Volk 13:16, 15 March 2008 (CDT)

Me too (for exactly the reasons that David mentions), but not everyone religiously uses that style yet. Doesn't bother me at the moment, because I just watch "Recent changes" anyway, but as the project gets bigger, I won't be able to keep an eye on the talk: page of everyone I leave a message for. I'll make a note to raise this issue on the Forums.. J. Noel Chiappa 14:30, 15 March 2008 (CDT)

moved lists

I just moved two of your lists to reduce the size of the pagename. Having "list of" seemed to be redundant in the context of the whole name. Chris Day 11:46, 7 September 2008 (CDT)

Planning on making a return?

If you are-perhaps we could collaborate-we're both interested in the Islamic World, an area sadly under-covered here. I haven't been too active recently, but I wrote several articles a year ago, including Lebanon which made article of the week and several half-finished ones I need to do some work on. If you're interested, I've read several books on Central and South Asian history recently, and would like to write about it. I'll also be writing about the Arab world.

Oh, I happen to have Asperger's syndrome too-from your userpage, we do seem to have some things in common. Steven Clark Bennett 04:08, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for getting back to me-I've been away for the Christmas holidays, but I'm planning on doing some work over the next few months. Is there any particular area you would like to work in? Right now my interests lean more towards Persia and Persian-influenced cultures (Central Asia, Mughal-era India), but I'll be writing some about the Arab world too.

Thanks for your compliment on my Lebanon article-I did my best, I'm glad people seem to like it. Oh, and I wish you well in your new faith. (I actually know some Baha'is at USC).

Happy New Year! Steven Clark Bennett 07:58, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
