User:Herbert Jeffrey Mattord

Herb Mattord completed 24 years of IT industry experience before becoming a full-time academic. His experiences as an application developer, database administrator, project manager, and information security practitioner are a valuable background to his role a tenure-track Instructor at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw Georgia. During his career as an IT practitioner, he has been an adjunct professor at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw Georgia, Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia, Austin Community College in Austin, Texas, and Texas State University-San Marcos. He currently teaches undergraduate courses in Information Systems and Information Security and Assurance.

He was formerly the Manager of Corporate Information Technology Security at Georgia-Pacific Corporation, where his practical knowledge of information security implementation and management was acquired. He is the co-author of _Principles of Information Security_, _Management of Information Security,_ _the Hands-on Information Security Lab Manual,_ _and Readings and Cases in the Management of Information Security_ with Dr. Michael Whitman. Their latest title, _Incident Response and Disaster Recover Planning_ was published in March of 2006.
