Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start, and see Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any user or the editors for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun!

Hello William, welcome to the Computers work group. You seem to like to write articles on programming languages. How about cooperating with User:Alex_Bravo who is doing that also to agree on a common format for such articles. --Markus Baumeister 20:00, 11 March 2007 (CDT)

Hi William, just to explain why List of common phrases in various languages was deleted: it consisted of four words left on the wiki for more than two hours. Please, if you're going to make a start on an article (or table of information), please make a more credible start than that. We don't mind stubs, but our stubs have got to be more substantial than that. --Larry Sanger 08:17, 13 March 2007 (CDT)

Programming languages

Hi, right now the three articles I started (C, Ruby, Perl) share the structure: Syntax, Hello World and analysis of the Hello World. This way it is much easier to compare different prog. langs. Which ones are you most interested in? I could get some help with them, as I'm no specialist. :-) --Rion 09:29, 13 March 2007 (CDT)

List of Languages

William, recently you created an article List of languages that has been nominated for speedydelete. As a constable, it is my job to delete along certain guidlelines. This article qualifies under:

  • it consists of two sentences or less, or 50 words or less, which have been left on the wiki for more than two hours;

If you would like to recreate it, that would be fine, but do develop it further. Also, I might suggest that you look into the CZ:Linguistics Workgroup. Thanks, and have fun! --Matt Innis (Talk) 13:48, 13 March 2007 (CDT)
