How to upload and place images
Step one: do what this page says!
All media not in accordance with Citizendium's media policies policies are subject to speedy deletion by constables acting on their own recognizance. If you do what this page says you will not have any problems.
Step two: document your image
Select, copy, and then paste the text below, exactly as shown, into the Summary form below, and follow the directions. Everything to the right of the equals signs (=) describes what you need to do.

|Description= Replace this sentence with a detailed description of the media you are uploading.
|Source= Replace this sentence with *exact* data about where you got the image, usually a webpage such as http://www.acmemuseum.org/collections/history/sahara.html. People *must* be able to verify the data as found at the image's source.
|Date= Replace this sentence with the date the photo was taken, if known; or, Estimated: [Date]
|Author= Replace this sentence with info about who took the photo and/or who holds or held the copyright (MUST be a real name or official entity). Add any verifying links that may be available.
|Permission= Replace this sentence with "See licensing data below" (w/o quotes) if you choose a license from the drop down list below (recommended); or, replace this sentence with the license template you were guided to make by following Step three, making sure the license/copyright/permission data you add matches with the data from the media's source; or, write out the license data.
|other_versions= If there is another file format or derivative of this same image on Citizendium, add the link here. If not, remove this text altogether and leave blank.

Step three: image licensing
Select the appropriate license from the drop-down list below (recommended); OR, visit the license tags collection and hand-select the license (you can find out about available operants there too).
Step four: uploading
Upload your media! Click "Browse..." to begin.
Step five: place your image in the article
Open Embedding internal images in a new browser tag and follow it after you've uploaded your media.
