Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start, and see Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any user or the editors for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! David Tribe 15:10, 25 January 2007 (CST)

CZ International

Hi! I’m just letting people who have expressed an interest in CZ International know that there is now a proposal on the table.

Please discuss its feasibility at: CZ:Proposals/Internationalisation sandbox in the Discussion area.

Feel free to help develop the proposal, as well.

We'll also need "drivers".

If you've got no idea what I'm talking about, please refer to: CZ:Proposals/New and CZ:Proposals

World domination

Bustin' a gut laughing! Thanks! That was funny! Aleta Curry 17:18, 20 February 2008 (CST)

Glad, I could make your day a bit. But still, after more than 60 years, world domination sounds strange when read in German language.Jens Mildner 15:15, 21 February 2008 (CST)

Your proposal "A new subpage for translations of approved articles"

Hello. The proposal record for "A new subpage for translations of approved articles", for which you are listed as driver, says that the current step (write implementation list) was due to be completed 2 March. Could you please update the proposal record on CZ:Proposals/Executive, changing your self-imposed deadline and perhaps the next step?

I saw you wrote that you're lacking time right now to develop the proposal. If this is not going to change any time soon, then it's better if somebody else takes over the proposal and become its "driver". However, if no driver can be found and you're unable to work on the proposal, then it will become inactive.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me. -- The Proposals Manager, Jitse Niesen 17:19, 7 March 2008 (CST)

You do need to specify in the proposal record exactly what happens next and when you expect it to be finished (the deadline is not a real deadline because you can always extend it if necessary). If you have no idea, here's a suggestion. Since you just updated the proposal, start with awaiting comment, say for a week. After the week has passed, you can decide to tweak the proposal again (if some good points were raised during the discussion), or submit the proposal to the Executive Committee (if there were no comments or only supporting one) or just continue the discussions.

The proposal system is designed to make it always clear what is supposed to happen next. Otherwise, ideas often stall for no good reason. See CZ:Proposals/Policy for more information, especially the section "Keeping the proposal moving along".

So please put something more definite in the proposal record on CZ:Proposals/Executive. -- Jitse Niesen 17:54, 8 March 2008 (CST)

Hi Jens. What, if anything, has happened? I guess you submitted the proposal to Larry Sanger with a view to get approved by to the Executive Council. If so, perhaps you should remind Larry of it. Cheers, Jitse Niesen 10:45, 20 April 2008 (CDT)
