Amber Neben atop the podium after winning the Burley to Magic Mountain stage of the 2001 Women's Challenge bicycle stage race. This victory proved to be a breakthrough performance for Neben and brought her national recognition and a spot on the U.S. national team for the world championships later that year. Two years later she won the U.S. National Road Race Championship. She remains one of America's top prospects for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. |
