Charleroi is a Belgian city, the largest municipality of Wallonia, and head of the arrondissement of Charleroi.
Geography
It is located on the Sambre river. Charleroi has a population of roughly 200,000 inhabitants.
History
It was founded in 1666 by the Spaniards and named after the king Charles II of Spain.
