Brochothrix thermosphacta "is of concern as a food spoilage organism; there is no evidence to support that it is pathogenic. It is a Gram-positive rod, non-sporing, non motile and is a facultative anaerobe. The organism is closely related to the genera Lactobacillus and Listeria".[1]

Description and significance

Gram-positive rods. Catalase-positive. Attacks sugars fermentatively. Non-motile. Describe the appearance, habitat, etc. of the organism, and why it is important enough to have its genome sequenced. Describe how and where it was isolated.[1]
