Aluminum (American English), officially aluminium (British English) according to the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, is a chemical element with atomic number Z = 13.

It is the most reactive post-transition element metal, the third most abundant element in the Earth's crust, and the most abundant metal in the Earth's crust.
