I think that a note needs to be added to the template that people are still encouraged to collaborate. Stephen Ewen 20:26, 20 February 2008 (CST)
- How about adding, Your collaboration and feedback is encouraged. ? Stephen Ewen 20:56, 20 February 2008 (CST)
- My understanding is that professors can discourage collaboration if they wish, or even prohibit edits and/or viewing from outside the class; see the collaboration section of Eduzendium. Therefore, your proposed edit may not be universally true. Perhaps there should be variants of this template depending on what policies the professor adopts? By the way, I think whatever changes we tentatively decide on should be explicitly approved by the Eduzendium leaders. Warren Schudy 01:33, 21 February 2008 (CST)
- If a professor (and a student, too) has stated they wish their students' articles to NOT be collaborative...then they have already stated their wishes, very, very obviously. If we right now have some such articles, as it appears we do, then something like {{EZarticle-closed}} needs to be created. And again, for articles they have stated MAY be collaborative, they have already stated their wishes, too. We need not act like children or check our brains at the door. If you wish to ask about this sort of something where the information is already clear and available, be my guest, and I'll just move on to areas where I won't need to acquire learned helplessness for myself in the guise of collaboration. - I don't understand your last two sentences. Warren Schudy 09:39, 21 February 2008 (CST)
- When closed EZ articles are edited by good faith contributors as normal articles, and the person doing the editing attests how there was no clear notice saying he/she could not do the contributing - well, such editing as already happened, but never needed to. We need to be very careful to not do things so "properly" that the resulting outcome is improper. Stephen Ewen 00:51, 25 February 2008 (CST)
