West Berlin was the name of the western part of Berlin between 1949 and 1990. Berlin consisted of the American, British, French and Soviet occupation sectors established in 1945.
Berlin was between 1949 and 1990 in West Berlin and East Berlin divided.
West Berlin emerged from the American, British and French occupation sectors. East Belin was the Soviet occupation sector of Berlin.
