Orbitofrontal Cortex

The orbitofrontal cortex is a region of the frontal lobe that is primarily involved in reward value representations. It receives information from the taste, smell and object recognition pathways.

Damage to the orbitofrontal cortex often results in socially inappropriate or even aggressive behavior. This resulting behavior has led some researchers to refer to a condition of "acquired sociopathy."
