All Citizens, including officials regardless of position or status, shall be bound by this Charter, and no referendum or decision of any council or official shall contravene it.

In cases where local, regional, national, or international law voids or limits clauses of this charter, all other clauses of this charter shall still be effectual and be interpreted consistent with law. For example but not as a limitation, Citizens under this Charter shall not be discriminated against on the basis of their age but many nations have laws regarding juvenile or under-age participation online. Such clauses in this charter shall be interpreted consistent with the law.

What about future amendments.. should we take them into consideration by stating something like the "Charter and future amendments"? D. Matt Innis 21:28, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Try this:

All Citizens, including officials regardless of position or status, shall be bound by this Charter, and no referendum or decision of any council or official shall contravene it.

In cases where local, regional, national, or international law voids or limits clauses of this charter or its amendments, all other clauses of this charter and/or its amendments shall still be effectual and be implemented consistent with law. For example but not as a limitation, Citizens under this Charter shall not be discriminated against on the basis of their age but many nations have laws regarding juvenile or under-age participation online. Such clauses in this charter shall be implemented consistent with the law.

One more?? Is there a reason you wanted to leave this one out?

If we are to have examples in the Charter, that one about the age limit is probably a very good candidate. However, I think we should not have examples in there. --Daniel Mietchen 23:06, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
That's fine with me. Russell D. Jones 23:34, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Apart from the ugly "and/or", I agree. What about replacing "this Charter and/or its amendments" with "this Charter, including its amendments"? --Daniel Mietchen 07:42, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes, that's the meaning we want, I think. Agree. -Joe Quick 13:45, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
