Is it "original research" to note that Atlanta was not particularly built up in 1609, so that the 5 to 8 degrees of temperature rise since then represents a trend of 1.25 to 2 degrees Fahrenheit per century? Is there a scientific paper (or popular digest of it) which explains how UHI is handled by scientists who study historical temperature trends? --Ed Poor 23:46, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
