Human fossil record

The human fossil record is scattered and incomplete, and the relative age of fossils is sometimes ambiguous. Please note that the human fossil record extends beyond the scope of the genus homo, encompassing genii such as the australopithecus. This article will be concerned only with those fossils that correlate to the evolution of homo sapien sapiens after its divergence from the rest of the Great Apes.
