Upstate New Yorker, Ph.D. in history of international relations (1648-1950) from the University of Toronto. I’ve been a professor of International History at West Point, a prep school history teacher, and congressional staffer. These days I am working in state government. My academic training was in the world diplomatic system, while my doctoral thesis was on Danish-German economic relations during WWII. It was subsequently published as In the Friendliest Manner: German-Danish Economic Collaboration During the Nazi Occupation of 1940-45, by Peter Lang, 1998. Proudly partisan Democrat, now working on local history of the New Deal in the Taconic region of New York State.
