Since the units on the axes of this diagram (graph) are on a per kilogram (kg) basis, the quantities represented by the axes are specific enthalpy vs. specific entropy, which are intensive properties or quantities. Specific enthalpy is often designated by a small h and specific entropy by a small s. Enthalpy (designated by a capital H) and entropy (designated by a capital S) are the corresponding extensive properties, which have similar units, but kg is left out of the unit denominators. Thus, units for the extensive properties would be kJ for enthalpy and kJ/K for entropy.
