North Korea is a country on the Korean Peninsula between China and South Korea. Its capital and largest city is Pyongyang. Korea was split into two countries following World War II, and the North has been ruled by a communist, Soviet inspired dictatorship under Kim-Il Sung and his son Kim Il-Jong ever since.
