THIS IS A TEST. IT IS A CRUDE DRAFT OF A PRELIMINARY BIBLIOGRAPHY.

Wikipedia Cite Books template is HERE. It looks pretty good, and seems to include all the proper fields. Doesn't include the number of pages.

Scholarly books

The AHP Series

These are from Wikipedia. Put them in a proper, consistent format and make sure all the books in the series are here.

Other scholarly books by Saaty

  • Prediction, Projection, and Forecasting, Thomas L. Saaty & Luis G. Vargas, Kluwer Academic Publ., 253 pp., 1991. The Analytic Hierarchy Process applied to prediction and forecasting in games, sports, and applications involving uncertainty and risk.
  • Conflict Resolution: The Analytic Hierarchy Process, Thomas L. Saaty & Joyce M. Alexander, Praeger Publ., 252 pp., 1989. Applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process in conflict resolution ranging from Northern Ireland to South Africa.
  • Decision Making with Dependence and Feedback: The Analytic Network Process, ISBN 0-9620317-9-8, Thomas L. Saaty, RWS Publ., 386 pp., 1996. This book shows how to make decisions when alternatives depend on criteria, but also the criteria depend on the alternatives.
  • The Brain: Unraveling the Mystery of How it Works, The Neural Network Process, T.L. Saaty, 481 pp., 1999.
  • Isn't there a four color book?

Not by Saaty

These probably don't belong in the Saaty Bibliography.

  • An Analytic Approach to Marketing Decisions, Robert F. Dyer & Ernest H. Forman, Prentice-Hall Publ., 367 pp., 1991. This text shows how the AHP decision making approach is totally compatible with the traditional approach to case instruction advocated by nearly all casebooks and business school case courses, i.e., state the problem, present the alternatives, specify criteria, evaluate trade-offs, and perform a synthesis to arrive at a final decision.
  • Case Studies in Marketing Decisions Using Expert Choice, R.F. Dyer, E. A. Forman, E. H. Forman, and G. Jouflas, Expert Choice, Inc. Publ., 177 pp., Revised in 1996. This is a workbook of applications and case studies that show how to provide decision support to executives making marketing decisions in such areas as market research, competition, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Proceedings of the Second (1991), Third (1993), Fourth (1996) & Fifth International Symposiums on the Analytic Hierarchy Process. Many papers on theory and practice in each volume.

Looking for the best format for this bibliography

Here we are trying to determine the best format for citing Saaty's books on this site. Maybe the book we chose for the examples isn't the best one, though--it is from 1991 and may even be out of print.

Amazon.com has a photo of the cover, showing different authors, a long title, mention of the series, etc. See it HERE.

The present Wikipedia bibliography in the Saaty article shows this. Seems like it refers to a totally different book. Maybe it has the wrong ISBN. Not the "annotation," describing what is in the book. We might want to do this in the Citizendium bibliography:

  • The Logic of Priorities, ISBN 0-9620317-3-9, Vol. III, AHP Series, Thomas L. Saaty and Luis G. Vargas, RWS Publ., 299 pp., 1991. This book is an introduction to prioritization using the Analytic Hierarchy Process in applications such as transport projects, technology transfer, and resource allocation.

Below are shown "started from scratch" citation examples for the same ISBN, cited in different formats using various tools. The tools aren't necessarily consistent. Authors vary. Titles vary, and might not include the longest version, which is probably what we want to show. Exact name of the publisher varies.

Joke books

Whatever they are, they could be cited here.

Papers

We need a sample in Wikipedia-preferred format, and maybe in some other formats as well.
