Hey you guys, hope you've had a good weekend!! I've just been adding a few sections to 'surgery as opposed to diet' as i think that should be our main focus. Also, I had a look on the gut-brain signalling page but at the time they hadn't seemed to have anything up - so if we can keep an eye on that perhaps we can link our section to there's for more detail on the hormones? '''Your article so far: ''' Well done! Clearly you've been doing loads of work. Your team seems to work well together with everybody contributing equally and keeping in touch with each other.
Your plan is well organised and structured, you cover all the main points in specific parts, and I agree with Amira, the section on 'surgery as opposed to diet' should be your main focus. Good start with the intro too and good use of figures with explicative legend. Your article reads well, a bit too much 'studies show, has been shown ...' sometimes. The only thing I would like you to do is to make sure that every studies or facts you mention are referenced in the text as well as in the References section following the citizendium references format. The bibliography page should also be updated regularly.
Im looking forward to see how your article will develop, I think linking your article with the Gut-Brain one is a really good idea too. Nice work overall!![[User:Celine Caquineau|Celine Caquineau]] 10:57, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Ok I just made some titles as an example to get us going. Not sure at all yet, but I’m going to think about it. Feel free to change anything I did, I just did it to get us started! I defiantly think the GUT hormones are the most important aspect of this project. Shane McSweeney 16:01, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Good start! keep an eye at the gut-brain signalling article to link it with yours. Celine Caquineau 09:38, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Hey shane, i added and re-arranged a few of your titles based on a few notes i took during our meeting the other day - hope you don't mind! feel free to change it back if you don't really agree... Also, i'm going to get started with the images - i was thinking, would you rather it be drawn on a computer, or would you like me to draw it by hand then scan it and upload it as a jpeg? I don't really mind doing it either way!Amira Mahmoud

Whatever is easier for you! Shane McSweeney 13:40, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Ok i drew the pictures by hand but added labels and arrows via the computer so it's a bit of both. I drew images of: gastric banding, roux-en-Y, and sleeve gastrectomy withd duod switch - however, i've tried adding them on to the page and it doesn't seem to work. the links are there but the pictures don't want to upload... i've double checked the format, size, etc. and it all seems right. Any ideas?Amira Mahmoud

Did you try the upload wizard? Im sure we will work it out! Well done for the drawings! Shane McSweeney 09:40, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Yup - I tried the upload wizard but that doesn't work either :S Anyway, i'll try and sort it out again. I drew 3 images - roux-en-y, gastric banding, and sleeve gastrectomy with duodenum switch. Anything else I can draw? Perhaps different hormones being released from different areas from the gut? And shane AMAZING job putting stuff up!!Amira Mahmoud

Dunno why its not working i tried and it works fine. Just a normal jpeg saved from paint, dunno. Shane McSweeney 11:31, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

fantastic work Amira!!! pics are really good. Enjoy the rest of lazy sunday!!! Shane McSweeney 12:18, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Good going; I've shown you how can insert references. You seem to be having trouble uploading what sound to be good images? I've signed your messages above for you Amira, do remember to sign yourself using four tildes, it makes it easier for me to see who's doing what. Gareth Leng 16:29, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Well done Amira! I see that Geraldine and Claire have been adding to the Bibliography - good to ssee you working together. Nancy Sabatier 19:19, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Shane, I just had a look and the images seem to be up ok. Thank you Dr. Leng! I finally managed to upload the images and I'll keep in mind that I need to sign my messages. Do you think the images are too large and the font size is too small? I'll try and re-adjust it so it doesn't take too much space but that the writing is still visible. And thanks guys for the compliments - I'm glad you like the images :) Amira Mahmoud

Really nice work, im impressed with the pics!Celine Caquineau 15:03, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
