I don't think so.  Counterintuitively the [[United States Department of Defense|Department of Defense]] calls the base  "Naval Base Guantanamo Bay".  I don't think we are stuck using their name.  But I figured we should have a good reason to use a different name, beyond it looks wrong.  And I couldn't think of one.

I was asked whether this article shouldn't have been named "Guantanamo Bay Naval Base". I figured I'd reply here.

I don't think so. Counterintuitively the Department of Defense calls the base "Naval Base Guantanamo Bay". I don't think we are stuck using their name. But I figured we should have a good reason to use a different name, beyond it looks wrong. And I couldn't think of one.
