Main Entrance to Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines System (Abbreviation: PUP or P.U.P. , Filipino: Politeknikong Unibersidad ng Pilipinas) is a government university with its main campus is located in Sta. Mesa District of Manila, Philippines. The university is governed by R.A. 8292 or the Higher Education Act of 1997. PUP is one of the highly competent educational institution in the Philippines. Today, on its 103rd year it aims a vision of a Total University.

The University is a public, non-profit and non sectarian, school system started as Manila Business School (MBS) on October 1904 under Superintendent C.A. O'Reilly. It was established to train professionals to work for the government and to answer the need of skilled workers in the business sector

On the 1900's PUP is one of the three pioneering public education institution in the country, along with Philippine Normal University(1904) and University of the Philippines(1908). After a century of operation, the tradition of public service remains by having a consistent low tuition fee. But despite of the low budget, it was one of the center of excellence in state-of-the-art technology in application to learning.
