John Edwards (born Johnny Reid Edwards[1], June 10 1953) is a United States politician, currently a one-term senator from North Carolina and one of the presidential candidates from the Democratic Party for the 2008 election. He was also the vice presidential candidate, running with senator John Kerry for the 2004 election. He is married to Elizabeth Edwards, née Anania.
