Polymers are molecules of a large size, on average any molecule larger than 1000 Dalton is considered a polymer. Polymers come in many shapes and sizes. Alll well known are [[plastic]], {Nylon|nylon]] and [[kevlar]] but also nearly all larger biological molecules belong to the group of polymers. That group consists of for instance [[DNA]], [[RNA]], [[proteins]], [[enzymes]] and [[starch]]. For many polymers associate with commercial plastics as used in daily life such as plastic bags, car utensils and protective clothing. However fewer people are aware of the biological funcrions of polymers. For that (non scientific) reason the ---- used this diversion --------- to explain both sides of the spectrum and do both right in all their (chemical and physical) features.
