The DC Youth Orchestra Program (DCYOP) is a youth orchestra in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1960 by Lyn McLain, it currently has an average annual enrollment of around 700 students from ages 4 1/2 to 19. Located in Washington, D.C., The program currently has six orchestras, three wind ensembles, two string orchestras, and one jazz ensemble. The most advanced orchestra, simply known as The Youth Orchestra, has toured in more than 19 countries and played for several Presidents.
