:Yes, all good comments.  If i recall the proposal requires the details for implementation, however, I think I can rearrange that a bit. What i have written so far is on the fly, cutting and pasting some stuff from the forums.  I'll try and keep the implementation details as a separate section and focus more on the concept.  Especially on the success of your pilot. ::No, when an approved article is protected you cannot make that change, however, the normal approval process will cause those changes to occur with no problem. This was a one off situation where I made some significant changes. I added the subgroup approval category to the approved article rather than using the subgroup draft category for that purpose.  You will note that i have done away with the draft categories in workgroups as well as subgroups, they no longer serve the purpose for which they were intended (long story). Note that the workgroup headers now link to "affiliated subgroups" rather than "draft versions". [[User:Chris Day|Chris Day]] 03:04, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Chris, I read through your draft proposal as it now stands and it look very good to me. I understand that you must explain how the idea will be implemented but I really don't understand the tagging and the template stuff ... so I can't offer any useful suggestions about those parts.

It might be useful to include the fact that the pilot Chemical Engineering sub-workgroup now has 112 articles in it and 16 of them have been Approved. That is 18% of the 87 total approved CZ articles as listed in Category:Approved articles!!

It might also be useful to point out that a good many of those 112 articles have been categorized in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics and Earth Sciences workgroups to support your comments about how the sub-workgroups can be and will be inter-disciplinary.

Ammonia production not displaying in "Approved Articles" in Chemical Engineering subgroup.

Hi, Chris:

There are now only 15 Approved Article showing up rather than the correct 16 Approved Articles. The missing one is Ammonia production. Can't figure out what happened. I tried adding a null space edit twice but that didn't work. ??? Milton Beychok 00:08, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

I fixed that. The null edit needed to be made to the protected article not the draft. Chris Day 00:13, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

No, when an approved article is protected you cannot make that change, however, the normal approval process will cause those changes to occur with no problem. This was a one off situation where I made some significant changes. I added the subgroup approval category to the approved article rather than using the subgroup draft category for that purpose. You will note that i have done away with the draft categories in workgroups as well as subgroups, they no longer serve the purpose for which they were intended (long story).
